City Fact: Ada is in the Southwestern region of Michigan. Ada is just due east of the city of Grand Rapids on the banks of the beautiful Grand River very close to the Thornapple River.
City Fact: During 1821 the area was setup by a gentleman from Massachusetts named Rix Robinson. He started a trading post in the new town of Ada, which is considered to the first western settlement in the western Michigan region.
City Fact: Ada further developed when the Detroit and Milwaukee Railroad which was built during the year 1853. Ada's development began and grew around the lumber industry.
