City Fact: The thriving rubber industry drew workers from all over the world. Akron's population grew from 69,000 to 210,000 in a short ten-year period from 1910 through 1920. It reached approximately 300,000 by the end of the 1920s. Due to this it is interesting to note that Akron was the fastest growing city in the United States throughout the 1920s.
