City Fact: Wheeling is located along the Ohio River which continues into Pennsylvania to the east.
City Fact: Wheeling was the last battle of the American Revolution, it was fought in the Wheeling area in September of the year of 1782. It was during that year that Fort Henry, located in the area, was attacked by a small British and American Indian force because news of the peace had not yet reached the Fort. The defenders of the fort were the original founders of the area, Ebenezer and Silas Zane. They had founded Wheeling during the year 1769.
City Fact: Wheeling is now famous for the finest fried fish sandwich one can experience anywhere. Just follow the main street to the center of town to the central market in the middle of the main street.
