City Fact: Cheyenne is located in the state's southeastern corner near Francis E. Warren Air Force Base.
City Fact: Cheyenne got its start in 1867 when the Union Pacific Railroad arrived as it moved to the west coast. The town-site of Cheyenne got its start was surveyed by General Grenville Dodge and named for a local Indian Nation. The settlement of Cheyenne was so swift that the town earned the nickname, Magic City of the Plains.
City Fact: Cheyenne is well known for it's famous annual July Cheyenne Frontier Days. It includes rodeo competitions, tours through authentic Wild Horse Gulch which features costumed townspeople and an Indian Village celebrating Native American culture. Cheyenne also has a museum displaying the event's long history.
