City Fact: Laramie's original town-site was discovered by various adventurers including French trapper Jacques La Ramie. Laramie named the city after Jacques La Ramie by putting his last name together into one word.
City Fact: Laramie began to grow after the railroad arrived here in 1868 and it was incorporated in 1874. The University of Wyoming was established here in Laramie during 1886.
